I think they should start to pay me....

Just found an article online stating one can make up to 10 infusions with Oolong. Maybe I should start to spend seriously when buying next time. Up to now I was not willing to spend more than about 14€ per 100 g, but it looks as if I could spend a lot and still have some reasonably priced tea.

Good morning, world! Happy Friday, everyone! Sun's up... it seems to be working correctly. I'm drinking a lovely mug of Taylors of Harrogate's English Breakfast tea and breaking my fast with a bowl of miso soup, rice, and tsukemono. It seemed to be the way to get the morning off to a good start!

Absolutely.

I have ordered most of their oolong samples, all Chinese that is. A few experimental black teas from India, a few tea from Georgia, a few white and in order to reach £25, a pack of Dragon Well.
Looks like an interesting assortment. I'll be interested to hear your comments about them.

Btw., Stitchawl, apparently I was right about Georgian teas.
I bet your Old Gentleman's code starts with W.
Both, Georgian Caravan & Natala's Gold Standard Tea start with W, which stands for White teas, and second letter stands for origin of the tea, G.
I guess it is a mistake that they placed them in black teas.
Quite right! They both have WG as the start of their ID numbers. I did enjoy that Georgian Caravan tea. I wonder if now that I know it's not a black tea, will I still enjoy it?

Beppe... be nice to Astra. He's working very hard to make the tea merchants rich, which in a Capitalist society is a responsible behavior.
We could all take a lesson here; spend! spend! spend!

In that spirit, I think I will explore another shop in Kyoto that a friend told me about. He says they have imported teas. I hope he doesn't mean Lipton. Only Phenomshel can drink Lipton, and we KNOW what that means, don't we.....

Nah... It really means that in the face of all this brow-beating, you are still sure enough of your own choices, confident in your likes and dislikes, and strong enough to not to give in to all the teasing!

That is really rather admirable!

I'm having a second go at the Pu-erh #2. I think perhaps yesterday I was being a bit hasty in my condemnation, so I decided to give it a second chance.

It's almost as good as Lipton's.

I am almost almost sure by now that I don't like to reinfuse teas. Unfortunately, because it could save me some money.

I am very curious myself. I think oolong and traditional white teas will be put on hold for now, but Georgian and Indian teas I am looking forward to testing Although, before that I am going to try Yunnan Imperial and Tippy Yunnan. Those two I really want to try over the coming weekend

Gunpowder. Two infusions already, with the same bag. I am trying a new technique, with a big mug. It is working. It was to accompany the lunch.

Something I never thought to mention... and it suddenly dawned on me when I read your post...

What 'size' tea bags are you using? They do come in sizes. Try to find the ones made for tea pots rather than tea cups! The larger size allows the leaves to expand, and the cost is almost the same.
