An old friend came to the city and we met today, talked and laughed and had great time. I showed him an interesting place, where we sat on the small plastic chairs on the pavement across the old church in the city centre, drinking tea with lemon slices.

A cup of Pu-Erh Orange.
Gotta finish the sample ![]() I can honestly ![]() 2 Chinese: Quote:
& White Monkey, tick. and one Japanese - Sencha Uji, tick. I would like to try one more Gyokuro Green Tea. The price is a bit too much but I know I will get it one day. Because of the price, all the more reason to buy a good, expensive tea to be qualified to judge it. Spoiler:
Black teas is an unknown territory. I like Keemun, at least the one I bought in Bath's Tea House Emporium tick. I like Lapsang Souchong, when I and a weather are in a certain mood, tick. I like at least one Ceylon from Taylors of Harrogate, tick. I like some of Assam teas, but I didn't try that many. Some of the ones I did try I didn't like. I like Bath's Tea House Emporium English Breakfast, but I have no idea what teas the blend consists of, tick. I know that I like some oolong teas, but it needs more investigation. I am not fan of white teas, although they are considered to be the healthiest. I have never tried yellow teas. No clue what they are. I like cooked/black Pu-Erh with a distinct earthy flavour, as an after meal tea, tick. So, effectively I am a newbie and only at the very beginning of the tea road. Hopefully, it will be a long, life time journey with lots of fun ![]() |

Yellow tea
I dont find any other English explanation now, but I guess this will serve in the meantime. They are between white and oolong, however. |

Well, apparently I have a very plebian palate. I love Lipton's blackberry flavored black tea (I'm drinking it now in lieu of diet Dr Pepper). I also love the pyramid bags of mandarin green tea (also that nasty L word). And this time it's not because I haven't tried anything else, the samplers from Adagio have been tried, and they're going neglected in my pantry (except for the Cream tea, which I like with milk and sugar). The samples that ProfCrash very nicely sent me were better than Adagio for flavor, and I've drank nearly all of the Oasis blend, but they still don't do anything more for me than Lipton. (sorry, sorry, mea culpa!)
Also a big fan of CS fruit blends when I don't want caffeine (which unfortunately is seldom), but have found I'm not a big fan of Rooibos. I'll try another flavor of that though, because I'm thinking it might have been the flavoring I didn't like, not the rooibos itself. I would love to find a strongly flavored Peach black tea, but so far have had no luck. Everyone seems to blend it with mango, and I don't like mango with my peach. I will say this, though - the whole experiment of "finding something hot I can drink in midwest winters" was a resounding success. I have a pantry full of tea - both cheap and not so cheap, and an array of flavors I like. I've also learned a ton about both tea and tisanes, brewing both, and acquired an appreciation for a refined tea palate (even though I don't seem to actually possess such palate!). I really enjoy reading y'all's reaction to new teas. |

Republic of Tea has a Ginger Peach that you would probably like.
Everyone has a different palate and finds different foods and drinks that hit the spot for them. Enjoy what you enjoy and I'll try to refrain from mocking that L tea and the CS teas. ommmm Pu Erh ommmmmmm |

A cup of Bancha.
Special Aged Pu Erh. It was better than Imperial, but still tasteless. I have done it again. Placed another order on NBTea. They sent me 10% off voucher if I spend £25+, on top of that the last days of my American Express 5% cash back, so...I succumbed to the temptation. I have ordered most of their oolong samples, all Chinese that is. A few experimental black teas from India, a few tea from Georgia, a few white and in order to reach £25, a pack of Dragon Well. Code:
Assam Hazelbank FTGFOP1 Sample Nilgiri Thiashola TGFOP (organic) Sample Sikkim 2nd Flush Temi TGFOP1 sample ============================== Formosa Oolong Finest Sample Black Dragon Sample Formosa Dong Ding Sample Ti Kuan Yin Sample Phoenix Dancong Sample Ginseng Oolong Sample China Oolong (organic) Sample ============================== White Anemone Sample White Pearl Sample Georgian Caravan Sample Natala's Gold Standard Tea Sample ============================== Dragonwell 100g Pouch I bet your Old Gentleman's code starts with W. Both, Georgian Caravan & Natala's Gold Standard Tea start with W, which stands for White teas, and second letter stands for origin of the tea, G. I guess it is a mistake that they placed them in black teas. |
