I suppose I could cancel. But with the extra 15% off, on top of the coupons, and occasional micropay, it doesn't seem worth it.

I wish they would bring back magazine subscriptions, though.

I cancelled because I had just bought a 5-year subscription during that amazingly awesome sale they had in 12/09. I got 100% micropay rebate for the subscription. A few months later the agency crap hit the fan and fictionwise hit the fan. I asked for a refund of my remaining membership since I still had more than 4 1/2 years left.

They refunded the entire amount back to me which was truly a deal since I had already spent the $100+ I received in Micropay, plus had the benefit of membership for 5 months. I bought an insane amount of books that December when they had the sale where you received 50% micropay rebate even if you paid via micropay.

I wish they would bring the subscriptions back too. If I had only known I would have extended mine for 5 years or more. Getting rid of micropay and subscriptions shows they're trying to shuffle off all obligations to customers for the eventual demise of the site.

I renewed during the same deal. I also wish I'd grabed a much longer subscription on the magazines at the time, but if I wait for coupons, I've actually been coming out a head (so far). I didn't cancel mine during the debacle, but have greatly reduced spending there (good for my pocketbook, not so good for them) since then.

I've never bought from fictionwise before but the 55% off code has me interested. Can I download the secure format books to my mac, to adobe digital editions and then into calibre? I tried to find an answer to this question by searching the fictionwise site without success. Have also sent an email inquiry to fictionwise but have not received an answer.

Only if the "Secure" format says "Secure PDF" (a few left) or "Secure ePub" (gotten rid of recently in a very poor business decision). "Secure eReader" is not compatible with ADE (though it's fairly trivial to strip and convert, even if the formatting may be a bit primitive).

Anything MultiFormat you can freely get and use on practically anything.

Absolutely. My subs run for quite a while yet, so I hope that before they run out either (best option) the magazines start offering subs directly or Amazon start offering subs at one-off fees and sensible rates.
