injapan: Yes, it is that good. I just finished rereading "Two Years Before the Mast." I have a beautifully bound copy on my book shelf. -- By preference I read it on my iTouch 4G thanks to Gutenberg.org. I could read at night in bed or at any other time I wished. My bound book is (8-1/2x6x 1.5" and weighing 20oz (1.25 pounds)) is bit harder to carry. I could read at night, in my bed, without bothering anyone who might be sharing same (just kidding Dear). I could read while waiting for my doctor(s) (I'm old). In short: My iTouch 4G is the best reader I have, including my Sony 350 and 650 eReaders. I know it is small but -- the new (iPhone 4G/iTouch 4G) screens have changed everything. They are sharp and crisp to the point of not mattering anymore. So: -- go ahead and buy either an iPhone 4G or iTouch 4G. BTW: Would you be interested in a slightly used Sony PRS-350 or 650? Good Price, easy terms . ;o) Joe Minton |

I hate reading on the touch. Screen is too small.

I have a Kindle and an iPhone 3G. I enjoy reading on both of them -- they are different reading 'experiences', if I can call them that. Some people never get used to the Kindle, some the iPhone -- personally, I use Stanza for iPhone and it's really great. You can turn down the brightness and set bookmarks and notes while reading. |

I have a 4th generation Touch and find the screen just too small to read on pleasurably, though I have to admit it does work fine from a technical sense. I have an Android phone (EVO from Sprint) with a 4.3 inch screen (about 3/4 inch larger diagonally) and find it acceptable to read on, though it isn't my favorite. I actually do about 20% of my reading on my phone now! Seems that somewhere between 3.5 inches and 4.3 inches is a critical level for me between acceptable/unacceptable. In terms of surface area, the 4.3 inch screen is half the total area on the screen of my actual Kindle, which may mean something. |

It might take some getting used to. My Palm TX screen is the same size and I have been reading so it was easy to adjust from the Sony. And the quality on the 4G is much better then the PDA. The thing that annoys me is that Sony does not yet have an App. They are blaming it on Apple, but probably it's a two way street. Why can't we download Sony ebooks to iBooks? |

That would br good, if they can get a deal done. Otherwise Sony could lose a lot of business.

back to the topic. I started this thread when I was looking a buying either an ipod touch 4G or Sony PRS-650. I decided on the 64 Gb iTouch and although it certainly is small, you get used to it, esp in landscape mode. I love the size, it can me taken anywhere and do so much more than the sony. I seldom read books for long periods at a time, so for me the iTouch is fine. Highly recommended |

Try iFlow for your reader. It was recommended on a different thread and is the best I have seen.

Does Stanza have a store? I couldn't find where you could buy new releases. I liked their format too.
