Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening,
a beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonder land.

Lot's of snow outside this morning! The bamboo forest in front of my house looks frosted! No motorcycle for me today.

Steaming mug of East India Company's Royal Breakfast tea to accompany my bowl of muesli and fruit. After breakfast we'll go out and build a Snowbaby. (Not enough snow for a snowman.)

Georgian Old Gentleman.

(Measured from a caddy containing an old teaspoon from the coronation of George VI... just a happy coincidence!)

You bet!

There are three teas in that order that I've never tasted;
Georgian Old Gentleman, Assam Moran BOP, and Georgian Caravan. That will all be new experiences for me. The other blacks, although I've had them many times, will be coming from a new tea company (for me) so should give me some interesting cups too!

I'm enjoying the no-named Pu-Erh pellets I purchased locally, so for the low cost of this sampler, I thought I'd give it a try too.

As I get older, my taste buds seem to get more and more refined. Things I didn't care for so much when I was in my 30's, taste better to me now in my 60's. It's worth trying some of these things again.

Heresy here...

I regret to appear to be violating the protocol that resides here, but, there you go. I just finished three infusions of my glorious high mountain oolong from the cloudy slopes of Taiwan, and now I am enjoying with a playful smile, some high grade Ukrainian vodka and freshly squeezed orange juice. Mayhaps I have died and gone upward...? Mea culpa.

What makes you think you are violating any protocols?

I'm working at home today, so I'm enjoying a delicious homemade mocha latte. I figured the occasional coffee won't do me any harm. And I'm drinking for taste more than for caffein.

Haven't tried the latter two, but Georgian Old Gentleman is a favourite of mine. First tried it thanks to a tea round-robin and got hooked! It has a sweet-chocolate and slightly tobacco-ey aroma and a very nice flavour. I steep it in a gaiwan and usually get at least three servings out of it before the leaves are exhausted.

Please do report back on your tea order... I've been in a tea rut lately and would love to hear some recommendations!

As long as it doesn't have a chocolate and tobacco flavor... I don't care for flavored teas.

Do you use the gaiwan as it's intended, using the lid to hold back the leaves, or do you use some sort of infuser?

http://www.nbtea.co.uk/shop/section.php?xSec=37&xPage=1 has a nice grouping of samples. For less than 150 GBP ($250 Canadian) you can get all of them, and try out a lot of different tea. I'm sure you could find something new to please you!
