Had to check the grandsons' Iphone....what he has on his is called an ISkin...the daughter had one on her's to but i think it was even thicker than the G-son's...made of silicon or some very flexible type rubber..it does nothing to protect the face, but it keeps it from sliding about and inadvertently getting bumped off of some high place

I recently bought the Incipio Kaddy cover from Amazon and I would like to share my experiences if anyone is wondering if it is worth acquiring (like I was three weeks ago). (The case can be found here - http://www.amazon.com/Incipio-Kindle.../dp/B00495XLZS)

From my point of view, the main pros of this cover were:

= the elastic band "lock" (since I do not trust magentic locks or buttons or similar stuff that is just waiting to break my precious Kindle's screen). Seriously, I can't understand why so few covers have this (as far as I know there are only three or four such on Amazon and even less outside of Amazon website).

= the minimalistic design (I like it very much

= the Kindle holding mechanism - it does not obstruct the controls in any way (as the leather does unfortunately), it holds kindle in place, it protects it from the sides and it is barely noticable. Plus it can be taken in and out very quickly and easily. For me it is second to the Amazon original lock (and this one does not freeze the Kindle )

As for the cons, I have yet to find any I am very satisfied with my purchase as this is exactly the cover I have been looking for since I got my Kindle.

I rec'd the Speck cover yesterday, played with it for an hour, and returned it. The stand is important to me, and this one is really offal.

- In portrait (vertical) orientation it sags to the right several degrees - hard to read downhill.
- In landscape, it falls over backward if you even breathe on it.

I like the design, the plastic clip that holds the K3, and the interior "leg", but the execution is horrible. I rated it a "1" on Amazon.

I just got this case too! Great case and agree with many of your points. Here's a link to my initial review w/pics.

Yeah, perhaps not as luxurious as softer leather, but it feels like it gives some nice protection. I'm happy with mine so far.

-actual Leather

-dark interior
-no flaps involved in the closure apparatus that stick out when open.
-non-hinge system
I like this criteria, and I would add some kind of "stand" ability, for when I'm knitting and reading. (Which is fairly often!)

I've had my new kindle for a week and am using the m-edge cover which I got free w/purchase of the Kindle 3 at Bestbuy. It's not bad (and a pretty Valentine Red color) but the tongue-style flap closure gets in my way, and it already seems a bit worn where it bends. Also, this case has an extra 1" to the left, then an approximately 3/4" spine as well. That extra 1" to the left is probably for a light to fold down. I don't have a light at the moment, and that inch to the left seems cumbersome.

I'm tempted by the Oberon, as it looks slim-lined and has a wool felt interior. I suspect the tooled leather may be heavy though?

I don't find it terribly heavy, certainly not as a heavy as a book of similar size. I fold the cover all the way back quite often while eating and it gives just enough lift (albeit at an angle) for me to see over a plate when I am reading and eating. it also makes it very easy to use one finger for page turns.

welcome to the forums!

This isn't a cover, but I figured this was a good place to post this.

I love love love this. I wanted something that would fit my Kindle with the Oberon case on, plus hold a light and charger. This sleeve works perfectly.

It was made by PG4003. She is so talented.

The light and charger are in the outside pocket:

Here I have them peeking out:

Here is everything peeking out:

I bought this

Costs less than 1 pound, shock proof, and semi water proof. Now that's a bargain.

Are the Oberon covers real leather all the way through, or just a tiny top layer like most 'real leather' covers ? They do look very nice.
