@Fallen angel
Hmm you should delete the lock file. Search for the file library1.db then in the same directory delete the file .library1.db.lock. You may have to enable display of hidden files in windows explorer or finder or whatever file manger you use in linux. @dioxide No I haven't tried CHM files. What are the problems you observe? |

Is that file within the libprs500 folder or in a location such as C:\Documents and Settings\(MyUserName) ? This is where I found that kind of file but there is not any .library1.db.lock file in this directory or anywhere else either. (The display of hidden files is enabled).

It should be in the same folder as the library1.db file

html images
Sorry for my asking a stupid question:
But I have a stupid problem: I don't know how to get the images from an html to the lrf when converting. I have tried to save an html (actually, some of them). I get the main html archive and a folder with the images. In my browser - offline, of course - I can see everything, but when I convert I only get the text with no images at all. What am I missing? I use the windows version of the libprs500. |

If the images are inside <a> tags, they wont be included. Other than that they should be fine.

Well, mine is not...
I tried with an example given in page 4 of this same thread: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/19499/19499-h.zip I unziped it to a folder called 19499-h and got a subfolder called "images" I can open the page in the mother folder and see everything correctly, so the paths are correct. Then I get the file into the libpr500 as an ebook. I make the program do the conversion to lrf and get no images in the resulting file. I think I'd already tried another book before, with the same result. As I haven't read any other complaint on the point, I assume it's me missing something. Here's the code of the page for the first image that I don't get: <h1>MUSIC NOTATION<br /> AND TERMINOLOGY</h1> <h2><span class="smcap">By</span> KARL W. GEHRKENS, A.M.</h2> <h3> ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF SCHOOL MUSIC<br /> OBERLIN CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC<br /> </h3> <p style="text-align: center"> <img src="images/logo.jpg" width="50" height="47" alt="logo" title="logo" /> </p> I would really, really love being able to enjoy images in ebooks as I've been an rtf-only reader so far. |

Ah if you are converting using the GUI you should add the zip file as a ebook not the HTML file.

Kovid:
I am using your GUI for these tools to create my books. In the OPF file I supply (inside the zip file) I place the TOC at the bottom of both the 'manifest' and the 'Spine' area, but when the book is built the TOC always appears at the front of the book. I thought 'Spine' dictacted the order of the documents on the spine - or is the TOC a special case? Is there anyway for me to get the TOC at the end of the book or is this a limitation of the LRF format? I have attached a copy of the OPF file for you if you need it.. Thanks. |

You also need to place it at the bottom of the <spine> area.

Tried this still didn't work: Please find attached a zip I used to build a book with (test book only), when I load onto my reader and select 'begin' the first page I get is the TOC. I can send you the resulting book file if you wish. It's about 400K and didn't want to fill the forum up... |

Is there any reason the last line on the screen is not used? Any way to get it to be used?

If it is used it occasionally causes the reader software to crash and the reader to reset. Try using the prs500-unsafe profile.
