So, yet another new firmware for K3.

What about KDXG (despite that ..xvdg... 2.57 firmware) ? Amazon has doomed KDXG. |

Since they got rid of constant locations display, I wish they'd gone ahead and got rid of the % too, or at least move it down to the bottom with the progress bar. It's kinda stupid to have the % taking a line by itself at all time. I'd much rather be able to squeeze in an extra line of actual text at the bottom.

			Hi Guys,

A small question. I updated to 3.1. My question is what about books which are not from Amazon, for example mobi books from fictionwise.com. Right now for those books I don't have page numbers (cause they are not from amazon) but I don't have a location as well, only the percentage. Is it only me? Thanks! |

I've had the FBReader installed on my Kindle and it was great, since you could adjust the progress bar to any degree, hell you could even change the thickness of it. FBReader displayed semi-pagenumbers. Original Kindle Locations are 128 Bit-Chunks. A FBReader Page is a 2048 Bit Chunk, which is almost as much as an actual page. With this method I didn't need any ISBN synchronisation. But the best option on FBReader were the extra text lines. You could change the margin on the top and on the bottom, so that you could squeeze an extra one or two lines. And there wasn't an Percentage indicator which took an extra line. The reason why I don't use FBReader is that the font looks worse than on the original kindle. Even if I use the same font, it doesn't look that bold and dark. Since the update adds some additional files to every book where page numbers are stored, maybe it would be possible to manually add such an file, edit it with a text editor and add page numbers even to books which weren't bought on Amazon.com? |

If you're looking for location number, it shows up together with the page number (if any) when you press MENU during reading. Also, I don't think page numbers show up for sideloaded books. |

Reading Amazon's description of the feature, it only seems to apply to 'tens of thousands books that we list' rather than any ones we'd sideload across. Ah well... |

I've noticed that the Go to... feature has been updated - it now has "page" and "end" added (don't *think* end was there before?).

I'm rather psyched about the page numbers since I use academic amazon-bought books on my Kindle. So I have two questions:

	1. Will they show the page number of books I've already bought from them? 2. Will this miraculously new implementation work only with the wifi on? Thanks! |
