How does he expect you to get taller if he won't let you eat cheese?!

I am trying to avoid the pills. I have three months to return a better result, and a week to improve my blood pressure!
I am not sure all this stress about my cholesterol will help though!

Damn right! I should have told her right then and there!
But she said I needed to cut down on all my food quantity, not just cheese. I do have to confess that between me and my wife, we eat for three...

Three months?! . She gave me two weeks to get my numbers down! I guess I got a really strict doctor! I started already by fast climbing 12 flights of stairs. I thought I was gonna die... I'll do it twice more today. I figure two-three times a day, with long walks in the afternoon through the grounds of the nearby Zen temple should do something other than turn me into a bitter old man.

That's horrible! I do feel for you. I, too, loves the cheese.

BTW, Norton wants to know if he can have the cheese you're not eating on the other five days.

Norton ticks me off. That dog eats nearly as much as I do and never gains an ounce. I've seen other 3 1/2 year pugs that are fat and lazy. Not Norton. He couldn't stay still to save his life. That dog is hyper, but happy.

He always freaks out when a visitor arrives and scrambles to find one of his toys in the hopes they'll play with him. And he always goes crazy when I return from a long trip, such as when I take out the garbage or check the mailbox.

Yeah, I love him!

Meat and cheese in pill form? But if its a pill why not go with something better for your health, I mean you won't taste it anyway.

You can do it, Sneaky. You've got a bike! (Have you been to the Council website for their bike route maps down your end of the Coast?) And it's only going to get cooler from here on in, so riding'll get more pleasant.

Going low on satfat foods isn't all that bad, though it takes a willingness to learn new recipes (and not just from the "Healthy Heart" cookbook - there's a lot of recipes in high-end cookbooks that are both delicious and good for you) and find your fresh foods.

Good for you avoiding the pills. The Loved One got put on those when we got up here (his cholesterol level hadn't changed - the measure of what was acceptable had ). They did unpleasant things to him. The Loved One had a major heart attack that near killed him 20 years ago - he was 18 stone at the time, and lived stressed and binging. That kind of changed his life, but in good ways.

You can do it, Sneaky. I'm losing it (weight) at the moment, and my blood pressure is going down, along with The Loved One's, and we can all help each other do it.

Cheers,
Marc

I can understand the doc saying to give up dairy, ie cheese but not meat. Lean meat, chicken and fish are fine especially with exercise. Its the bread, pastry, biscuits, potato that will get you. (andd the plonk)

Actually, the whole things doesn't make sense to me...

My EKG was normal. My chest x-ray was normal. My respiratory test was perfect, blood flow to extremities was normal, lab specimen tests were all negative, and every single blood test EXCEPT the ones for cholesterol were all in the normal range.

If I'm so fricken healthy, why do I need to worry about cholesterol?!?

(bold added)

It makes sense if you put 'is still' before the doctors findings. You don't know 'where' (that is: completely normal or barely normal) you are in that 'normal' or 'perfect' range.
About the cholesterol; these days, the doctors themselves aren't too sure about the effects on arteries. But if a high cholesterol runs into your family, or if a lot of your relatives suffer from cardiac troubles, I would strongly consider a healthy life-stile.
Stichawl: your doctor wants you to be his/her patient for a long time.

While I'm pretty sure my sigs have never violated the guidelines posted on MR (or its spirit), part of me is sad to see the need to revise the guidelines and limit people's choices in promoting their work. Sure, I don't want to see big, flashy annoying logos either... but it seems the options for advertising a product are being taken away as fast as consumers are demanding to be spared from ads. I've never felt any sig on MR was too much, even with the more flexible guidelines here.

Oh, well, that's my minor rant.

Maybe I'm just bummed because I dropped my hat somewhere at Union Station, and apparently no one behind me saw fit to call out, or pick up the hat and bring it to me. Thank you, fellow Washingtonians.

Maybe we should all take a note from our furry friends and decide, for no good reason at all, except that it happens to be 3:14 in the afternoon, to want to play fetch. We can all grab whatever object we want and carry it to the closest person and not leave them alone until they've thrown it and we've brought it back several times! I think doing that once or twice a day, followed by spontaneous cat chasing will keep us all fit!! Or really tick off our animals

I updated my PC program for connection with my smartphone and installing apps. Since the update it always connects to the internet and downloads the app (deleting the downloaded one form my harddrive) when installing. If the app is moved, or there is no internet, or something else: well, it gets removed from the list and my copy is deleted.
I hope it's just a bug I have and am currently downloading the newest version of the software (a few build up above the update) in hope it will get better.

I am also pissed about cutting some of the functions (like saving SMS to the comp) or scattering them around and removing the status fields, where you could see what happens now. Honestly, I've never seen worse update of anything in my life.

Oh yeah, and the support suggested, that my files were broken. ALL of the 124 apps I have downloaded...

To finish up - I can't actively use the old version, because the internet shop won't support it anymore. It demands the update...
