I'm plowing through Under the Amoral Bridge by Gary Ballard. Definitely hints of Snow Crash in there which I loved.
Looking forward to seeing how it ends. Think I might pick up the sequel as well. Regards Caleb |

I've finally started "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier! I have a feeling I'll really enjoy it.

Haven't read it, but remember seeing a Mini-Series many-many years ago..
It was excellent. |

I'm catching up on all the Dean Koontz books I missed, just finished "What the Night Knows" and starting "Tick Tock".
I wish more books by Rick Hautala were available in digital format. I bought the only 5 I could find, but I'm anxiously waiting for "Night Stone". That's one book I re-read quite often, my paperback is falling apart. I'll have to dig up some Daphne DeMaurier books after reading this thread, there were several of her books that I loved ages ago and I'd like to re-read some titles. |

But I liked one story in the April Analog enough to bump that author's novel to the top of my TBR pile. So next is Emissaries of the Dead by Adam-Troy Castro. I bought it back in November 2008 from the HarperCollins ebook store, which has now folded. |

Great timing! Ever since I got myself into the mobile bandwagon I quickly realized that: 1) I can accomplish quite a lot in the hours into the bus; and 2) e-reading is a lot cheaper on the batteries than either web browsing or gaming. Thus, I decided to put my reading up to date. And I decided to begin with the classics, missing so many great stuff from far less mediocre times! Thank God for Project Gutemberg!
I'm now well into Conan Doyle's "A study in scarlet". Can't believe I've never actually read some Sherlock Holmes... I've previously read "The nameless City" from Lovecraft. My very first complete reading on smartphone. ![]() So many choices... Glad I found this forum... |

Finished Under the Amoral Bridge. Great book - 4/5 stars of cyberpunk fun.
I'm finally jumping into the horrifying world of Scott Nicholson with The Red Church. I bought 3 of his books a while ago and I'm really hoping I'm blown away by this book. Regards Caleb |

![]() I must be turning into an old fuddy duddy or something but I was really shocked at the amount of hard-core sex that didn't do anything to advance the plot. I'm really hesitant to continue with the series. Too bad because the book had good bones and the characters were interesting. The Irish connection and that part of the backstory was very well done. The grandfather was also a total hoot! How do the other books in the series compare? I'd like to read some other readers' reviews if you have the time and/or inclination. Thanks!! |
