Should I say I am lucky or unlucky today?
When I popped into a town for a lunch today, I visited TK Maxx. The one that sells all sort of good things.
While looking at the tea shelf, the assistant put 3 tins on the shelf.
Ready? Stitchawl are you listening?

Taylors of Harrogate

2 tins of Pure Ceylon Leaf Tea and 1 tin of Tea Room Blend Leaf Tea Hopefully, the latter doesn't have any Darjeeling or bergamot.
I don't know whether to be happy or not. I think it didn't sink in yet.

The proof of the pudding (or tea) is in the tasting. You may have lucked into a real find... or....
Remember, the Yorkshire Gold that you like so much, and the regular Yorkshire that I like, are both put out by Taylors of Harrogate! I've never tasted their Ceylon or Tea Room Blend but I love their English Breakfast tea and their Yorkshire tea. Chances are better than good that you found some real winners. Keep in mind that Ceylon's are often a bit bitter at first sip.

Time for bed now, but I hope I see a report in the morning when I wake up! Good luck, my friend!

I confused it with your love for Fortnum & Mason's Ceylon
We will see.
I will test them.....in a few weeks time probably. Have to finish English Breakfast from Bath's Tea House Emporium.

TK Maxx had Taylors of Harrogate's English Breakfast but only in bags. They had some 5-6 other different teas in bags by Taylors of Harrogate.
Only two more loose teas. Both were green. One with a lemon, another...don't remember. I didn't buy them though. I like green tea as it is. Be it Chinese or Japanese.

I am thinking that I might need to go to H MArt this weekend. It is this massive Korean Grocery store. Their tea selection could be very interesting.

I love milk with honey, especially at night ! Hope that cold goes away soon

I'm drinking plain water.

I just bought a pack of each. I never noticed until today that they sell the Yorkshire Gold and the regular Yorkshire loose tea in standard supermarket, Tesco.

I like it in tea bags. I believe it is the best tea in bags that I have ever tried. Lipton, Wissotzky and Ahmad abominations didn't get to the competition at all.

Such was the success of having my lunch with Sencha! that from this evening on I am starting a new pattern. I am going to drink tea with my meals. To night I will dine with gunpowder, and I will brew it in my neat Japanese design teapot. I am thinking of using one different tea pot for each tea that I use. I am not the tea adventurer like our tea teachers are (astra Prof and Stitchawl, in strict alphabetic order, just those 3 for the moment, but it might well be that an other bright star will enlighten this thread). I buy my teas from one shop so they are always the same, which is reassuring and a simplifying certitude. I will drink Keemun and Ceylon as black teas as drinks and brew them single shots. I am using paper bags now. Mine are Japanese from ochapack.com, I got them in Zurich, 2 packs.Click image for larger version

With one teapot for each of the meal teas (Oolong, a green of choice between Sencha and Gunpowder, and I will soon decide what I prefer or what is best with what) I might just rinse the pot.

About blacks I might start an adventure in finding what kind of Chinese black is the one I had once with those 2 old diplomats. I thought that was the tire burning one. No way. I will find it in the list that the Prof produced not long time ago. And slowly work my way through it. Unless my famous good luck will give me the answer right away. But who cares, often the path is much more interesting that the destination ...
