				Kindle app for Macintosh Laptops

I am truly amazed by what Calibre can do. I don't have an iPad, and would like to be able to read the ebooks converted by Calibre in the Kindle app, rather than Stanza. However, when I open the Kindle app on my MacBook Pro, it doesn't offer me the option of loading ebooks already on my computer, only the option to re-download already purchased books. Does anyone know a way around this behavior?

I'm new to this forum, enjoy reading, and look forward to seeing what developments are occurring in the ebook world. makimesser, from the middle of the state of Washington (on the dry side). |

If you drag and drop your Mobi files onto the K4Mac app window while it's open (or the icon when it's closed), it'll add them to the Home screen and you can read them just like any of your Amazon-purchased books.

Interesting. If I drag the books to the open app, nothing happens. When I drag them to the app icon in the dock, however, they load nicely. Can't explain the variance, but glad the other option was pointed out to me. Thanks, makimesser.

Oops, you're right. I got K4Mac mixed up with the Kindle Previewer app I use for testing converted files, which does allow you to drop files onto the app window (in fact, requires it, as dragging them to the icon does nothing).

	Sorry for the confusion. |
