Yeah, Mount Tinbeerwah and Mount Cooroy are not much visible at the moment through nothing but the thickness of the humidity. It's been a while since it's felt this sticky (probably just last summer, but this one has had such a slow start that I've forgotten what summer is normally like ).

I think the only effect we'll get from the TC at the moment (unless things change) is a nice 2m/6' swell tomorrow, which I might guiltily exploit if it's not too dumpy. The weather ahead looks summer-same, but I could do with some simple storms:

So, I'm well out of danger, except from my own body-surfing ability.

Cheers,
Marc

Have you been listening to the news? They have asked people to not go
to the beach tomorrow. There is going to be a tidal surge.

Keep safe.

Cheers

This morning it was like this. Not exactly, but quite similar.

Clear nice weather where I live (about 400 m above sea level), a thick fog over most of the valley. This is the time to go and swim in the Caribbeans. And ... what other things could one do there.

The drive to train station, blinded by the low sun through the naked trees of the wood put me in a fantastic good mood. So when in the train I spotted this young lady with a porcelain complexion, ash blond hair and pretty features, I remembered the sun through the trees, the fog, the swim and braided them in a silent druid invocation ... . I just got a passing glance and the hint of a smile as recompense. Obviously, I could use more practice. The evaluation of the glance and of the hint of a smile took most of the trip in the metro and of the walk to the office.

Looks like Cyclone Yasi did it's worst up in Nth Queensland yesterday. Not sure of the final damage but they think it wasn't as bad as it could have been. As far as I know, no lives lost, thank goodness. This is cyclone that was bigger than Hurricane Katrina!

Chris tackled clearing the driveway so we could get out in steps: Step 1: shovel for about fifteen minutes. Step 2: Say, "to heck with this!" Step 3: Start 4WD Blazer and put into 4LO. Step 4: Stomp on it.

What's your sign? Is it "Yield"?
Huh huh huh huh. Would you like carry my books for me?

Some of this is piled higher than my head. We got out and went to the store that I work at. The main door is completely blocked by drifts, but the side door had a narrow path to it. Chris took a shovel and widened it a bit. I had to come home and get discussion posts submitted for school and change, but yes, I will be going back from six p.m. - midnight tonight. When my main boss figured out what Chris was doing, I thought she was going to cry, LOL.
