Is it planned to hit in flood drenched areas? I know that includes most of Queensland.

That's the 3rd an biggest cyclone. Anna Bligh just said we shouldn't count out another couple this season.

Not really but I expect they will get more rain, which they don't exactly need at the moment. They are even expecting some flash flooding and storms in the northern parts of South Australia and that is about 1500 km away from the Queensland coast.

It is a bit further north than the most severe flooding of January. But I imagine that there will be some crossover with areas in central queensland that will cop a double whammy!

I have relatives who live on the edge of where the cyclone is supposed to hit. They came to stay with my family yesterday so they'd hopefully be out of it, but they went back today. They live right on the beach with water on two sides, so I really don't think it was a good idea for them to go back, but what can you do? I just hope they'll be all right. We'll probably get a lot of rain here.

Just got message from SIL near port Douglas. They have nailed up all their doors and put the car inside which is to be their bunker when yasi crosses the coast. I am a little frightened for them, but they are brave. Hope the kiddies are too!

Wowsers good luck all!

Weird weather all over for sure these last few months. I was in the UK for the snow that brought the airports to a standstill....went into a store to buy a gift road was clear, came out after about 30 minutes and snow was ankle deep and rising!

Hope everyone affected is safe and sound, has plenty of food and water, candles and blankets...........and has plenty of battery life on their ereaders!

Marc should be fine. He is probably sweating it up as it is pretty bad here at the moment.

we just had a sunshiney shower whilst i was in the pool. I was hoping for a downpour to bring the level up a bit. I know we were sick of the rain a couple of weeks ago, but a bit now would bring some relief!
