I travel a lot, and read a lot at books stores, coffee houses and want to find a lil COLLAPSIBLE portable stand, maybe tripod like for the Kindle DX. Are there any Kindle DX readers that have anything like this?

I have the Amazon case for the DX and like it so I don't want to get a different case that acts as a stand. Maybe something like the iZel, or iGobee, or something else. ![]() thanks. Steve. TheArtfulPenguin |

The DX is pretty much the same dimensions as the iPad, isn't it? I wouldn't buy an iPad case for a DX, but a stand should work, I would think.

While not specifically for the Kindle, the BookGem book stand is very sturdy, very compact, and can be used in a couple of ways with a device that's in or out of a case. I use mine with my iPad and Kindle and like it quite a bit. You can buy them on Amazon.

[URL="http://store.apple.com/us/product/H1895ZM/A?fnode=MjA1MTEyODY&mco=MjA1MTEyODc"] This costs $40, so it's a little pricey. It's possible you could find something similar at a picture frame shop, for less money. I know you said you didn't want a new case, but for the same $40, you can get a Tuff-Luv case that works beautifully - I have one myself: search on Amazon for "Tuff-Luv multi-view Faux Leather case cover for Amazon Kindle DX" |

I currently have a stand for my dx it was 20.00 and worked wonderful! However with my case it doesn't fit in the stand anymore. If you want you can have it if you will pay for shipping it.

I have Kindle 3 and I HEARTILY second the BookGem. Mine is skinned and cased in the Kindle lighted case and the BookGem stand is wonderful for curling up on one's side in bed and holding Kindle in case at an angle to read and hit the page change button. Light and sturdy as heck and the clips that hold the kindle in place are padded so no damage to skin. Will only caveat that the physics of the DX would be different and heavier so I'd do a quick look to see if anyone has had a problem with using it with the DX vertically. I'm sure it'd be perfect horizontally.

Try cookbook stands. They are abut the same size as a DX.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mine cost <£2 and was made from a ring binder. As you can see it fold flat and is smaller than my DXG, which means it fits inside my slip case.
