Hi GRiker,
looks like the exact same thing is happening: attached the debug file.
The command line gives teh exact same output as before - I am really sorry I am wasting your time, as I said it is not a major problem as I can still create the catalogue if the device is not attached, and send it to device later.

I dug up this old thread because I've been getting the same error when connecting my Pocketbook Touch Lux 623. I have Calibre 2.33 installed and it has been happening for quite some time - can't say how long exactly because I had switched reading devices inbetween. I think it started some time in version 1.x.
I have no trouble sending books to my device, but the error keeps coming back whenever I connect it.

THis error was fixed a long time ago, I doubt your are getting the same thing. Post the full error message by clicking show details on the error popup

That's an error in the annotations plugin, not calibre itself. You should tell the author of that plugin about it.

The plugin should be using the get_gui_name() function instead of trying to dorectly read the gui_name property.

That is in the Annotations plugin. It is in a routine run when a device is plugged in. The driver for the POCKETBOOK622 is missing the attribute "gui_name". Te annoying things is that the error is on a debug statement.

As the Annotations plugin does not support the Pocketbook devices, unless you have another device that it does, you should uninstall this. But, other than displaying an error each time you plugin the device, I don't think this will cause a problem.
