Error when converting

Kindle worked fine for me but now it just wont convert. Keep getting the following message:

Does this happen on every book?

Sounds like the Lit file is corrupted in some way - probably some incorrectly encoded non-breaking-space based on that entity error, but the earlier complaint about the missing <head/> element indicates there are probably other problems.

I would say there are two options:

1. Use Calibre's debug output (under the conversion options) to see if you can get the initially extracted html, repair it by hand, and add back to Calibre
2. Use ConvertLit to extract the html, again repair what's wrong, and add the corrected html back to Calibre

If neither option works you've probably just got a hopeless Lit file - it happens.

This is a lit file with all text in a single <pre> tag that actually uses entities. That's not a case handled by the LIT input plugin. I've fixed it, but without the LIT file to test on, I have no way to verify my fix.

EDIT: Actually this is caused by a change to the TXT Input plugin that makes it insert the entities
