I don't remember ever starting a book and not finishing, but I did recently. I started Pornucopia by Piers Anthony. I have loved every other book by Mr. Anthony that I've read, and I've read a lot of them. I expected this to be sex-charged from the title, and thought a story about a succubus would be very cool, but found it very unsexy and just vulgar and finally just gave up.

I started The Stand twice because it's my husband's favorite book but I couldn't finish it. I usually love Stephen King, but that one was tough. Also read Twilight, because of our daughters, but it was really, really bad. I now will not waste time on books that I feel are bad. There are too many books to read.

I finished The Stand, but was disappointed in the end. As for Twilight, the first two books were very sophomoric - matching the intended audience, but the last two books were much better than I expected and actually made the whole thing worthwhile.

Glad to see this thread revived!
Being a great Sherlock Holmes fan I thought I would enjoy M J Trow's "Inspector Lestrade" series. Wrong! Full of unfunny jokes, a confused boring plot line. Conan Doyle must be spinning in his grave. Ken Follett is another author I will never bother with again. There are very few books I won't finish - but these authors managed to produce them!

I read Mists of Avalon. Although it was an ok read, I kept telling myself all the way through it; 'I get it, you hate men'. I endured and plugged through.

I started the January Mobileread bookclub read, The Woman in White. I had to stop that. I couldn't get through it. It was boring.

heheh I really liked Mists of Avalon. It is one of the books that I had as a DTB and bought the ebook for an easier re-read.

Wuthering Heights. Well, anything by the Bronte's. I don't get why so many people love these books. The characters are depressings, the plots are depressing, there is nothing in them that makes me want to like any of the characters. I spent most of my time wishing that they would get around to dying so that my pain would end.

I just read Little Vampire Women. Can't recommend it. I like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but this didn't have the same sense of fun. Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy were the least likable vampires I've ever read.
