IQ pocketbook 701 wi-fi trouble

Just got my pocketbook iq 701, Like it a lot but my wi-fi only works for 5-10 minutes then cuts out. I can download or access sights during those 10 minutes then I have to go to settings and re-establish my wi-fi and I am only 3 feet from my wireless router. Any help would be great!

did you update to version 2.0.3? I never had issues with my wifi.

Yes It came with 2.0.3 installed. The device works great for 10 min then no wi-fi. I have a laptop connected to my wi-fi and no problems with it I also have two smartphones that can connect to wi-fi and have never had a problem.

Does it go into "sleep" mode (the screen turns off)? I have found that this causes the WiFi to disconnect and it takes awhile to reconnect afterward. If problems persist, it wouldn't hurt to get ahold of the latest firmware and re-flash and factory reset.

No it doesn't go to sleep, The wi-fi shuts off while I am using it. some times right in the middle of a download. I will try and see if installing the update again makes any difference.

A couple things. 1) What is the indicated signal strength? 2) Do you have background data enabled? (Settings>Accounts & Sync>Background data).

The wifi receiver on my IQ seems to be significantly weaker than my laptop (right now my laptop has almost full bars while the IQ has one). But it really should connect when you're three feet away.

Fixed my iq wi-fi problems, I shut it off and pulled the battery out. Reboot and now it seems to be working.

Just a note for other potential wi-fi issue sufferers as I was having wi-fi issues as well, though not exactly the same ...

My connection was intermittent, dropping out and popping back up every 15-60 seconds. Made browsing a pain, downloads impossible.

Reinstalling the firmware update seems to have solved the problem.
