Love that tin, Stitchawl! Very pretty. I do know that Lipton's teas are different in different countries, different varieties available, too. (Wow that's a lot of different in one sentence...).

I found Ahmad's at Amazon for what I would consider very reasonable prices. They seem to like to sell it in bulk, though.

Perhaps blended to local tastes or requirements? I know that a lot of food manufacturers do that. The "Jones Brown and Serve Sausage" sold in Japan has almost no spices in it, while the US version has a lot of sage and some red and black pepper. McDonalds in Singapore and Malaysia sell their breakfast sausage made from chicken rather than from pork for local consumption.

Interesting to see that Amazon sells so many different types of Ahmad tea. My shop here only has four different in the loose tea. Also interesting to note that Amazon doesn't sell Ahmad English Breakfast tea as loose leaf tea in the Edwardian tin, only tea bags! The one I bought was loose leaf, but in the same tin . And did you notice... it was THREE tins for $19.73! To me, that is really cheap!

Unfortunately, Amazon then goes on to say;
Shipping: This item can only be shipped to the 48 contiguous states.

I only buy in bulk, once I find a tea that I like. I drink so damn much of the stuff that bulk buying, besides being a lot cheaper, saves the hassle of re-ordering.

And speaking of which, I'm downing a mug of China Black as I type. I order it from McNultey's Tea and Coffee in NYC in 8oz packs, turn 2oz into teabags, and 'vacuum-seal' up the other 6oz until needed. Quite often drinking the straight, unblended black teas can really give a jolt!

Well, I'm sure if you wanted some, we could work something out. Unless it's against the law to ship tea into Japan? But if you can order from McNulty's, surely not, right?

That sounds good. I like a lot of the fruity teas. Harvest peach would have to be my favorite fruit tea.

I love peach anything. I've been drinking the Country Peach Passion from Celestial Seasonings. What brand is the Harvest Peach that you like?

Thanks for the offer, but after living abroad for more than 20 years, I have re-shippers in the US who do that for me on a regular basis, as well as providing me with a permanent US mailing address. There are waaay too many geographical restrictions when buying mail order these days, from license agreements to companies worried about credit card fraud, so I keep credit cards with US banks, bank accounts, and mail forwarding accounts. It makes life much simpler.

When I wanted to buy my reader, Amazon wouldn't ship a Sony to Japan. They deal with Sony-USA and that company can't interfere with sales for Sony-Japan. But Sony_Japan doesn't make a reader. I had to buy the reader from B&H Video, who deal with Sony-Canada, and they were allowed to send it to me. International business can be a real bother!

BTW... no law prohibiting sending tea to Japan. There are some prohibitions about sending fresh food, but not for dried, canned, frozen, etc.

Trying to motivate myself to do some cleaning ... But it's way too early on a Sunday morning to do anything useful.

First: Rooibos baked apple

Put on some very loud bagpipe music. Something really 'marchy.' That always makes me stomp around the house getting things done. It is, however, possible that I march around getting things done so I can shut off the music...

And in honor of Sunday night... a glass of Jamaican rum!

Great idea Unfortunately I don't have bagpipe or any other kind of annoying music on my iPod. I ended up listening to a Harry Potter Audiobook, and the appartment is clean ! Well, clean enough

Glass of water before going out for a run !

Oh... the mental image that brings.

Time for just a wee bit more o the Jamaican rum.
(Do you realize that it's difficult to use a Scottish accent to talk about rum?)
