even that connection is problematic in this area, sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't.
finding the market has been GREAT! ![]() next question; what is the most effective way to get my pictures off of my incredible? I used to either email myself pictures if there were only a few, or take my sim card out. I think I understood that removing my sim card now is a lightly "bigger deal" I also am not entirely certain how I make sure my pictures are on the sim card as I have not found the equivalent of "manage my media" or the equivalent. thanks everyone! I'm learning a lot! I spent last week worried I had made a huge mistake getting this! |

You have a few options for removing pictures.
You can connect your phone to your computer via the usb cable. When you do this a notification will popup in the top bar of the screen asking you to mount the phone as a drive. After that your computer will show the Incredible as an external drive. The other method is to remove the micro SD card. Before removing it go to Menu > Settings > SD & Phone Storage > Unmount SD card. After selecting this it will tell you that it is now ok to remove the SD card. |

the first (and only) time I had the droid connected to my computer, it said that the driver for it could not be found. is this an issue?

I've never encountered the driver could not be found problem. What OS does your computer have?
You can try to remove the micro SD card. Once removed you will need a Micro SD to SD adapter to fit in a card reader. |

I'm running vista. I have the adapter, that is how I did more than 3 pictures with the other phone
edit: can I go somewhere and download the driver? |

After connecting the phone to the computer, you can try windows update and maybe it can find the right driver.
Also, are you using the usb cable that came with the phone? |

You could always d/l HTC Sync from the HTC site and install it to get drivers. It is a very buggy program to sync contacts and calendar with Outlook.

That should be fine and not cause any problems.

I've had the original Droid for quite a while and I love it! The operating system is really easy to use and very versatile.
Glad you found the app market. It can be a little (lot) addicting! Just be sure you get yourself a good app killer -- I use Advanced Task Killer -- it will help conserve battery life. As far as pictures go, I connect to my computer to transfer a large number. If I only have one or two pictures then I just email them to myself. Have fun! |

Glad you found the good market. I think the only app I installed from the Verizon app store was NFL mobile.

got the drivers installed finally, it took awhile for my laptop to recognize the phone (my laptop has issues). I have a bunch of apps that are stacked up trying to load. yeah.... BAD connection! I'm headed into town, hopefully they will finally download at some point. thanks guys! I'm sure I'll have more questions!

I hope Verizon didn't put an app killer on your DInc, by the way. Android hasn't needed that for years, but Verizon tech support training hasn't caught up. If you see something called advanced task killer, get rid of it - your phone will thank you !

I agree that app killers are unnecessary, especially with Froyo 2.2. A faster way to download apps is if you have a home wireless network, connect to that and the apps will download and install very quickly.
