This is my second M.A., in Classical philology (my first was in Italian linguistics). I'm also finishing off a Ph.D. in linguistics at the same time, which, let me tell you, was bordering on more stress than I could handle! Croatia is like the wild, wild west - they pretty much let you do anything you want here, hence me going crazy with the degrees. University here is still free for many students, and I wanted to milk that for all it's worth before they cut that off and start charging high tuition fees, which they will likely start doing very soon. I feel like crying, I've had so much pressure on me this past year, and I can't believe that it's almost all over. Now that I've survived, I don't regret it - I've learned a lot, and my Classics degree has really helped with writing my dissertation (on Romance philology).

Before you all think I'm too crazy, let me tell you that I actually do know other students here who did the same thing - work on two degrees at once.

My best friend (also working on her Ph.D.) says she wants to open up a blues bar. Maybe we should combine the two somehow. And throw a bookstore in for good measure.
