Amazon's new commercial bad for Kindles

Very true, but they didn't need to put the Kindle in situations where the cover would otherwise be the sane way to store it. They didn't need the scene with the jewelry drawer, and showing someone putting the Kindle in their back pocket would certainly be ill-advised, even with a cover.

While I would never stick my Kindle in my back pocket I actually like the commercials. They don't bother me at all.

I haven't seen the commercial, but since when is a naked kindle BAD? I own a sleeve I use occasionally, but 90% of the time, mine is naked. I toss it in my bag, get food on it, Frisbee it across the room to the couch or the bed. It's a hardy piece of equipment

It would be so much easier to have your confidence.

I would probably need to pretend the Kindle takes phone calls and EVERYONE has my # before I could be casual with handling.

I dunno what JSWolf is wearing, but personally, I can't get a Kindle in the back pocket of my jeans. maybe the cargo pocket of a pair of pants, but I sure don't sit there. I think we can all relax and not worry over the future of unborn kindles

I now have my kindle in a case, but I had it nude for the first 3 months I owned it no problem. And carried it in the back pocket of my work trousers where it fitted just right.

Although it's sensible to protect the device, there's 2 reasons amazon will always show it nude in ads.
1) They wouldn't want to promote a specific cover, especially as their own cover causes crashes...
2) The device nude looks really small and nice, which is a major selling point. If it's in a cover it doesn't become massive, but it's definitely bigger and doesn't give the same asthetic look.

Same reason mobile phone ads will always show a picture of someone with very large hands holding the phone without a cover.

ahaha oh well at least the kindle is one of the best e Readers out so whatever add amazon makes it wont really make much of a negative impact because of its good reputation already

I guess then you don't mind the misinformation given in the commercial. The fact is, that if it's in a back pocket naked, the chance for damage is very high. You forget it's there and sit on it or you bump it, or it gets knocked out since it does stick up.
