My nephew called me a few minutes ago from Bangkok using Magicjack. He's called a few times since he's been there, and I have to say it's been a great connection every time. He bought it and registered it here before he left, and is planning to leave it with his in-laws. They've got a good internet connection there, so it works out well. Does anybody else here use one of these? I had not heard of it before, but it's pretty handy.

We use it for faxing. We had wanted to get rid of the land line a lot sooner than we actually did, but not having fax capability was a big hurdle. (When you need it, you really, really need it!). Finally Chris got Magicjack, and that's all we use it for. As far as I know, it seems to work fine for that.

Searching for a new host for my website. The one I have is rather expensive because back then the only package offering PHP and MySQL (for Wordpress) were the professional packages.

I would have switched to another package but since they've been taken over I have been having more and more problems with time-outs. They always blame it on Wordpress, only I was having problems this week and suddenly, 2 months before I need to extend my contract, they are admitting that it's a problem on their end and they solved it within a couple of hours

.

At the moment I'm leaning towards Antagonist.nl but I'm dreading to write the email cancelling with my old host.

I'm not very up on the details of various host at the moment Rumpelteazer, but I do know that I've been happy with 1&1 for that last many years. Not sure if they are international or not...or if that matters. They offer a lot for the money and my needs are pretty simple. God Knows I need to completely revamp my website though as the only things updated are my art and photo galleries and some of my poetry...

Wishing I had joined the Peace Corps. I always looked up to those who did. RIP, Sargent Shriver. And, frankly, I thought the war on poverty was a fight well worth fighting.
