Thank you. In that case, I certainly take exception to using that as a description for "Connect". It may not be fancy, but it does the job it was designed for, and does it well. Moreover, for those of us creating books, it has an absolutely superb "Reader Emulator" in it.

Another thanks from me. I knew there had to be a way to install on Server 2003 (as previously mentioned, it's essentially XP with some welcome differences in the interface and slightly unwelcome difference with the default settings), and this thread had it working in 5 minutes. Now to get my classics!

505 Not Recognized by Computer

I got an Sony 505 for XMas - worked great on one of my laptops running XP SR2. But after loading the eBook library on my work laptop, which runs XP Pro SR2, the computer was authorized, but the Pro would not recognize the 505 - it does not even show up in the drive tree. Any thoughts?

That did not work but thanks. What I tried that did work - after looking at some other forums - was to abandon the eBook Library on the XP Pro, remove the device driver (which was not working, and downloaded libprs500, which recognized the 505 after restarting.

With removable drives, I've sometimes had to go My Computer/Manage/Disk Management then change the drive letter of the removable drive, as it's tried to use G: or H:, which are already mapped to network drives (Corporate ones, so I can't change /them/). If it does that, they show up in Disk Management but not in My Computer until remapped.
