It is. Didn't bought 3G to buy books but to surf the web for additional informations when reading a book. Well, wifi would have been better for DXG than 3G, or a combination like K3 would have been best.

Still can't understand why less expensive K3 has wifi+3g while the expensive KDXG just talks 3G.

Wikipedia is very useful for that, and that can be accessed anywhere.

The DX seems to be built on the K2 hardware platform rather than the K3 - I'm sure you've noticed that it runs the same firmware version as the K2. Consequently, it doesn't have WiFi.

Just in case anyone is interested in other countries outside Europe, those of us who have had Kindles registered and shipped to South Africa enjoy absolutely unlimited web browsing -- a fellow-owner I know here even uses it to do emergency (web-based) e-mails ---- veeerrrrry slowly.

That doesn't seem to be universally true - I have a US K3 registered to a Canadian account in Canada, and I have full web access.

In Australia seems to work anywhere, barring the usual technological issues - e.g. you can use it for Dropbox etc.

Works everywhere in Thailand, access to everything except for a few sites that are banned in Thailand (porn, offensive to the king, etc).
