I don't like tea at all, but reading lots of these graphic tea-posts.......I don't know............it's giving me ideas of I don't know what.......and all these names.... and the special cups....infusers (?).........

I almost feel I must join this teaclub.

Edit: I'm seriously thinking about it.
We will be here when you are ready.

I am finishing a pot of Three Kingdoms Mao Feng from Teavana. Good stuff.

LOL, I know what you mean! Before assimilation, I felt the same way. An infuser is just a "basket" that you put loose tea in when you make it, to keep from having to strain tealeaves with your teeth. Basically it takes the place of a teabag, and allows you to use bigger tealeaves instead of "tea dust" that will fit in bags. This in turn, allows more flavor in your cup.

@ astra & ProfCrash: I feel a bit weird toward you two. I get my teas from Drogheria Soana in Corso Magenta (you might know it prof. from your days in Milano). I go there and buy some 100 g of Keemun, like I did the last time. He takes down a big metal box, digs into a large bag and fills a little bag for me, and that's it. I know that he gets the best tea's that he knows how to get and that's it for me. When I went to him with a list, he gave me everything and than added some Ceylon tea saying that in the style of English breakfast teas I should try that one also and he was right as i enjoy it very much. Am I missing something getting my teas like that? should I start a never ending adventure of search for what I do not know what it is?
Should I read more to get intellectually stimulated?

BTW. I have been drinking Ooloong lately and enjoying it no end. It leaves a very clean mouth. It is simple, subtle, elusive and promising at the same time. I think that I might have identified a definite note in it, but no I can't pinpoint it like in the black teas. I will try more and see if I can find that earth taste at the end of the sip.

This is what I got. http://www.teavana.com/Tea-Products/...-5&cm_vc=pdpz1

You put the tea leaves and water in, let it steep, and then set it on top of your mug - the pressure of the mug rim releases the tea through a strainer into your cup. Totally self contained - and you can leave the tea leaves inside to resteep for a second cuppa.

One piece of advice, though. Don't go too crazy, even with samplers. I did, and now I'm sort of regretting it. After trying three different ones (Apple black, Pomegranate green, and Blood Orange herbal), I haven't even found ONE I like any better than the cheap teabags I was using. Sorry y'all, guess my palate isn't ready for the tea club

Trying tea is hit and miss. You said you didn't like them because they were not fruity enough. So try a different brand. You might like Lupicia or Teavana teas which have a stronger flavor infusion. Or try the republic of Tea teas. They are good but they are a bit stronger in the fruit flavor then I like.

That doesn't make them bad, that means they appeal to a different crowd. Republic of Tea is available at World Market and online.

I love tea and I keep trying new ones and new companies. I don't see that stopping any time soon. If that makes you happy, then go for it. I am trying three new types of tea because of recommendations of people in this thread.

Astra likes the straight teas, very few have an infusion of flavor. I like the straight teas and some infused flavor. KindleKitten likes the Republic of Tea teas. bjones6416 is trying some new stuff but still enjoys her bagged tea (I just can't type it).

I apologize if I have some across too strident. I love tea and my enthusiasm might come across as snobbery.

And I know where the comic book stores in Milan are but I was not drinking tea then. (winks)
