A Mother's Sacrifice for Racially Divided Children

Tomorrow, July 1st, Two Kinds of Color is a FREE KINDLE DOWNLOAD. Promotion ends at midnight. It's the story of a mother's love and sacrifice for her racially divided children. Two of them are white, two of them black, raised in a hustler's brutal environment on the South Side of Chicago. The kindle reviews are all five star. I hope you get a chance to read it. Here's the link:

			Hi Deborah

Welcome to MobileRead, and congratulations on your first book... I must admit that I find $9.99 for a first book a bit steep, so I downloaded the sample, just to see if it was worth the money. At the moment it isn't, but it certainly has got some potential, especially if you have a professional editor 'look' at it. |

			Hi Lena:

Thank you for taking a look at it! I'm so pleased that someone all the way from Australia took interest enough to comment. I know the book is not for everyone. African Americans, those that live in urban communities, have been my main readers but now that seems to be changing. Again, I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am to hear from you. I hope you have a fantastic New Year! Always best regards, Deborah |

Hmmmm....I may have to read this book just because it sounds like the real life of someone I know.

A childhood friend's daughter has two white children, then had two biracial children with a man who was convicted of killing a woman and is somehow out on parole. She lives in one of the seedier areas outside DC and has an on again/off again relationship with the father of the two youngest. This books sounds like it parallels her life. Anyway, I'm off download the sample and I'll let you know what I think.

As readers you are so very important! When you have a moment, go to the Writer's Corner. I'm asking readers, "What advice can they give Independent Authors?"

Deborah, I read your book on my kindle. Being from Chicago, I thought it was raw, true to fact, and absolutely a fabulous read. I'm waiting for the movie! By the way, will there be a sequel?

At first, I was intimidated by the storyline. I don't usually read books that open up the part of me that gets so angry, sad or scared for the characters. When I read the sample, something clicked... and I had to finish the story, I had to find out everything that happened. I'm so glad I did! What a masterpiece! I felt that I could hear the author's own voice narrating the vivid images. You just have to experience it for yourself, and feel for the characters, because they could be anyone you walk past on the street, on any given day. We all have our stories deep inside us, don't we?--KINDLE REVIEW |

I read "Two Kinds of Color" quite some time ago but the story line stays with me. I live in the Chicago suburbs and this book heightened my senses...I could see, smell, taste, touch and hear the sights and sounds of the neighborhood Deborah Kennedy shared with us. All I can say is Wow and I look forward to the author's next offering! I shared the eBook with my Mom on her Kindle and she identified with and enjoyed the story also! I suggest it to everyone!
