I was told by my day shift relief that the forecasters are now definitely predicting a serious snowstorm beginning tomorrow night. When I got home, my wife said the forecasters were now predicting rain. I haven't heard the reports myself, and wouldn't you know it? I don't have a copy of the Farmer's Almanac, so there's no way to know for sure!

Well - so much for my "lucky" friends who headed up to Queensland for their Christmas holidays! Here we are expecting 29C, blue skies and the lightest of breezes. But I won't be complaisant - the way our weather systems are going we could have anything from a heatwave to a snowstorm by next week! Keep those toes dry Sneaky Snake and make sure your books stay out of the water.

He has been in a few pools and the canal, so I guess he can swim, bu he doesn't like it much.

Poor little devil came home soaked this morning as we were headed out for a wet ride. I copped a big splash from a car going through a road lake! Wasn't watching properly. Spent the rest of the ride soaked through. Didn't care how much it rained after that. Lucky it was warmish 25°C.

I think we will be OK flood wise unless there is a big tidal surge. We are at the sea end of a flooded river. Looks like Adelaide is a sunnier place today!

I guess they got it right this time. The weather moved in just about an hour ago, and I already have several inches of snow/sleet on the ground here and it's coming down hard. Crossing fingers, it seems to be mostly snow so far. I sure wish it would stay that way, but they seem pretty sure it will turn to sleet and freezing rain sometime after midnight, and that will continue all day tomorrow. We'll see. Maybe it will stay more snow and less ice! It's beautiful right now, anyway, although since it's 27F with windchill in the teens, it's most beautiful looking at it from inside my warm house.

Picnic anyone?

The right of the weir is coming from the river into a closed channel almost the bottom of the low tide. At the other end it is flowing over the weir going out! Confusing huh? I forgot to take a pic. It is going to be very wet over there when the tide comes back in again.

We usually ride over this weir, but not today!
