there are some user names that quite obviously are created to engender displeasure. personally I try to not react to quickly knowing this is an international board. with this particular one I couldn't figure out if it was a misspelling or what the deal was

OK, time to vent about something going on in my personal life.

I'm just trying to figure out why the proverbial "bad boy" is just so darn attractive to women. I know this guy, we'll call him "Mike". Mike is like human catnip when it comes to women. They just literally can't seem to resist him. He has spent the better part of the past 10 years in and out of jail and prison, yet every single time he is released he is instantly with another girl.

They know he is trouble. They know that he got a 16 year old girl pregnant when he was 19, and isn't able to take care of that daughter. They know that he has another girl already 6 months pregnant. They know that he is currently awaiting sentencing for one of his crimes. Yet women STILL keep tripping over themselves to get with him.

I swear, it seems like they are on some sort of waiting list. Eagerly anticipating their turn to get with him. He is currently being charged for beating up his pregnant girlfriend. She ended up taking him back. He hit her again and was arrested again -- before he was even sentenced for the first incident. Yet you should see the women on his Facebook page -- leaving messages of support for him, offering him places to stay, money, food, a shoulder to cry on. Telling him to stay strong and keep his head up.

It's disgusting. I feel like each of them is just waiting to become "baby mamma" #3.

I feel horrible for these women (and girls). They just don't seem to care that he'll use them up and throw them away. They seem to almost welcome it! Why in the world would anyone want that?

Good rant. I think we all know women like that. I can't figure them out. Maybe they have a masochist streak or perhaps there was some kind of trauma growing up they haven't been able to deal with properly, but obviously they could use a bit of time with a good therapist.

It's insane isn't it!!! I don't think I'll every understand that behavior and I doubt those involved understand it either....it must be something deep down in the human psyche/evolution that is behind it cause it happens over and over.

Its just because these women know there are enough of nice guys out there on whose shoulders they can wipe their tears off thereafter and then dismiss in favour of another dangerous toy.
Genetic programming works even if they don't want kids at all.
get the dangerous and strong for insemination, makes healthy offspring.
get the nicer ones for care and support thereafter.
Until the day the nice guy either breaks down, or gets smart and tell the stupid chick to go to hell and not to waste his life any longer

I think Tom probably has it about right. I'm sure we all know some women like that, but believe me, we don't all find that bad boy thing attractive in real life. Movies and books are a different story, but in real life I'm the one always wishing those guys would just grow up and take responsibility for themselves for a change.

Hmm, and this leads me to wonder if maybe some of these girls have trouble separating movies from reality. In movies the bad boys usually have a heart of gold. Not so in the real world.

Thanks for all the replies folks.

Me and my lady have been discussing this whole mess the past few days. This "Mike" fellow is a relation of hers, so we can't seem to escape the repercussions of his caustic actions. Neither one of us can comprehend why these girls and women have kept flocking to his side, but we've come to agree on at least one thing: these people just don't know what love is.

They really just don't seem to understand it at all. I'm not pretending to be some authority on the subject, but I know enough to realize that beating up your pregnant girlfriend is NOT love. Needing to call the cops to protect yourself from an abusive boyfriend is NOT love. Dating the friend of an EX just to get back at them, that is NOT love. Dating 3 different people in as many weeks, that is NOT love.

A lot of these people seem to think love is simply changing your status on Facebook from 'single' to 'in a relationship'.
