Agreed, we all would have been warned and potentially suspended at Television Without Pity boards by now

Yep, my experience as well. Reading between the lines, I have a feeling that the "Report this Post" button was being jabbed repeatedly by both SCION and Rock-da-boat (who managed to make my ignore list fairly quickly), and the mods had to step in. As soon as things cool down, perhaps she'll be back.

Perhaps a name like "Rock-da-boat" should have been a tip off? I have no idea what went down but Scion has always been very helpful to me.

Well this is my take on it:

Scion will be back.

Rock-da-man goaded her til she "retaliated".

I'm quite certain that Scion knows the value she adds here is far more important than letting rock-da-man get under her skin again.

She'll be back. I'm certain of it.

P.S. TheJohnNewton...love your interpretation of his user name "Rock-da-boat".

The problem here is that every now and then you get someone who has a bad attitude or nasty personality and likes to play around and mince words. They pretend to be looking for healthy discussion, but in reality they just want to jab and disrupt. It's pathetic.

Plain and simple, this all could have been avoided if "RockdaMan" would have stayed off the nook forum, as he was not contributing in a positive manner. He overstayed his welcome. Maybe Scion could have handled it better (I tend to like the fact that she didn't back down to him), but in the end he was the cause of the problem. I don't see a thread on the nook board titled "Oh no, where did RockdaMan go?"
Good points. Yeah, there are some people that post solely to stir the pot. I just don't like when the word "troll" is used in a very liberal manner- such as someone posting a contrary opinion or stating that they don't like something. Not saying it happened on this thread but it does happen. It's really bad on another board I frequent.

I was trying to come up with how I wanted to respond in this thread, but you've summed things up better than I could.

Free Scion!

I am really surprised. ScION was an asset to this community. Wonder where she is posting now?

Well, your experiences have been different from mine. Most of the years of my experience have been on another board that was very open and tolerant.

Bogus Suspension

The following posts of mine were flagged as unacceptable:

Reported to the mods, as they've asked me to do when certain posters can't help but poke other posters in the eye.

Out of 1800 posts 2 were flagged because of one person. There was no name calling or derogatory comments exchanged. The suspension was a knee-jerk reaction in response to someone who has a chip on their shoulder and wants to be relevant.

It's obvious that RockDaMan is against rooting and has no interest in changing his mind. There is no reason why he should be intruding on threads where rooting is discussed. He should stay out of the rooting sub-forum. He serves no purpose but to stir up strife, which the moderators have failed to recognize. They played into his hand with his bogus reporting of my posts.

Shouldn't these technical discussions go over there...or into their own sub forum here?

Now the forum is littered with rooting information that makes it difficult to do research or communicate about the original Nook or just about...reading on the NC.

The title of the website is Mobileread, not Mobileroot.

Oh well.

At least when I have an issue with someone I confront them directly. Why wait until I'm not around to share your thoughts?
