Cold (high 30's F) today - snow tonight (light?) then the big event to arrive on Monday .... maybe .... kinda .... sorta .... They've started waffling like they did for the storm that hit during the last week of December - storm tracking up from the south ... exact path unknown...may be considerable ... may be nothing....

As usual, I'll prepare for the worst.

Yep, true to those chicken genes.

Hope it's not too day.....we're supposed to drop back into the deep freeze on Monday, low to mid teens.

That'll be there end of next week. ....

Same here. These storms that spread up from the gulf are tricky. The worst snow/ice events we've ever had have come from that direction, particularly ice storms. The noon news today seemed to be leaning toward an ice event for us on Monday (freezing rain). That is the worst of the scenarios, so I really hope they are wrong.

Yikes! I haven't been paying attention to the weather forecast today. Just clicked over and found this, part of a winter storm watch for this weekend:

...precipitation will begin as all snow Sunday evening
and remain predominantly snow through early Monday morning.
Initially... areas from Carrollton to Metro Atlanta and Washington
will mix with or change over to sleet... limiting accumulations to 3
to 5 inches of snow and sleet. North of this area... accumulations
will be higher with 5 to 7 inches expected with the higher
elevations remaining all snow... resulting in locally higher
accumulation amounts. From midday Monday through late Monday night...
the sleet and snow will transition to freezing rain and drizzle... creating a
dangerous situation for area roadways.

Just talked to my sister and she said the local weather guy says he expects we will get 3 to 5 inches of snow with a half inch of ice over the top. I hate freezing rain!! Not only does it mess up the roads, but it brings limbs down on power lines.

Cold and windy. Had some snow flurries earlier, which looked a lot worse than it was, because the wind was blowing it around. No accumulation though.
