Are you still above water? About the only up-side to all this is that the Darling River has some actual water for the first time in years. Interesting to note that some unpublicised information I got (shades of Wikileaks?) was that the various government authorities had virtually "written off" this river. Nature = 1, politicians = 0. Next thing we'll have is an actual lake in Lake Mungo - I think the last time was about 10,000 years ago!

Don't you get fossils in that Lake? When it gets wet again maybe more fossils will begin for people to find in 10,000 years.

So, what type of rain is it?

Since he had left Denmark the previous afternoon, he had been through types 33 (light pricking drizzle which made the roads slippery), 39 ( heavy spotting), 47 to 51 (vertical light drizzle through to sharply slanting light to moderate drizzle freshening), 87 and 88 (two finely distinguished varieties of vertical torrential downpour), 100 (post-downpour squalling, cold), all the seastorm types between 192 and 213 at once, 123, 124, 126, 127 (mild and intermediate cold gusting, regular and syncopated cab-drumming), 11 (breezy droplets), and now his least favourite of all, 17.
Rain type 17 was a dirty blatter battering against his windscreen so hard that it didn't make much odds whether he had his wipers on or off.

I'm thinking about immigrating to a far, far away country with sun all year.
This cold gets to me. Snow, snow and snow for weeks.
Now the snow is almost gone and its starts raining; on a frozen underground.
Last thursday I had to walk with my bike through the snow, today I will be skating my bike to work. Hope I'll arrive in one piece.

Bah, they said it would be 8 to 12 degrees on saturday... I prefer those temperatures below zero...
