That reminds me of when the speaker on my cell phone broke last year. I called customer service (on my grandmother's landline) to get a replacement because it was still under warranty. After the call, they robo-called my cell phone, which they knew was not working, to get me to take a survey about my customer service experience. I did not find out about this until a few days later when I received the replacement phone in the mail and got the voicemail notification.

A nice resurrection, to show why you shouldn't get one of those new-fangled phone devices:
A colleague of mine got a phonecall yesterday. He couldn't pick it up, because his fancy smart-phone wouldn't respond to his swipes (which is needed to pick up the phone...) |

I found a new purpose for my phone today.
I forgot my keyboard, mouse, and more importantly, my riser (to prop my laptop up). Which means it's sitting flat on the worksurface and it can't get rid of its heat very well. So, I now have put my phone underneath my laptop to generate an air current. My fan has slowed down to a crawl instead of trying to take off... You try to do that with Samsung Galaxy S! |

That's not a phone call, it's a text message.

I think my "dumbphone" is on it's last legs, and I'm sort of worried that I will have a hard time finding another new "dumbphone". All I want is a cheap phone with good battery life, pay-as-you go payment, no touchscreen, 3g, etc. All I want is to be able to make calls and send the occasional sms.

When I accidently washed my phone I got a replacement here: http://www.dotcells.com/
There are a number or sites like that, that sell used/reconditioned phone... (You really should get an Android phone though. ![]() |
