That's the thing about witch hunts. They tend to spread from mob to mob.

You can do that with Amazon, if you want. Simply download the version for the device or app to your PC and then transfer it to your device. The hassle is that you must download a file for each device/app since the file is keyed to that device. At least you don't have to use a PC (or Mac or Linux) program to download the Kindle files.

Even with the standard Adept ePub encryption you are limited to acitvating 6 devices per account. Plus, you need to have Adobe Digital Editions and/or the Sony software to download and sync the files to your devices.

The eReader encryption is not device dependent but uses the last 8 digits of your credit card and your name. IMO, it's the least onerous of the DRM schemes.

Back OT, retailers have a right to sell or not sell whatever items but it's to their advantage to set out policies so misunderstandings don't occur as often. And it's important to evenly apply these standards.

That's odd. Back to the Garden is gone, but the other two titles mentioned in her blog post are still available on B&N. And lots of her non-incest stories, too.

I wonder if someone reported it for "inappropriate content"? (Maybe they learned about it after reading the blogs.) Every PubIt book has a "If you find any inappropriate content, please report it to Barnes & Noble." link. Unlike the "report it" links on Amazon, you don't even ahve to give a reason for why you are reporting something.

Also, unlike Amazon, only PubIt books seem to have a link for reporting in appropriate content.

I use a lot of time on Amazon, searching for books and reading reviews... I have never seen any of the books in question..

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong genre???
They don't. They go out looking for things they can use to stir people up for political and ideological reasons.

Amen to that, and I'd add sometimes reporters do it to add to their own cache or out of personal pique. The woman who called my book porn seems to have done so because Amazon wouldn't give her an interview, so she took this, "I'll show you" attitude...and two of my books got dropped.
