I get this weird, wobbly, faintly dizzyly feeling over me, seeing all those Tickers in signatures.

What are they actually ticking away? Could be anything.........
Is it really books, or is it something secret like pounds, kilos, money, minutes, years, good intentions, Christmasses..........
Who knows? I'm intrigued, apprehensive and a bit curious.
Probably doesn't mean a thing........all those Tickers....

I got into The Young and Restless for a while, but only because my niece had a bit part on the show at the time. Those characters change go from "good" guys to "bad" guys and back again more often than professional wrestlers, and each of the female leads has a wash-and-wear wedding gown in her closet.

They haven't had any good soaps since Dark Shadows!

I agree. And just FYI, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are filming Dark Shadows this year.

With Tim Burton at the helm, I'm sure it will be an interesting picture, but half the fun of the old series was laughing at the mishaps -- the shadow of the camera in the scene, the boom microphone appearing over the heads of the actor, etc. Those kind of things aren't likely to fill a Tim Burton film, and if he inserted them deliberately, wouldn't be as funny.

For what it's worth, I was first introduced to Dark Shadows while driving my mother and grandmother to the grocery store one day. My grandmother suddenly asked my mother, "Remember that little girl I told you about who'd been dead for 500 years?"

As my grandmother was very much into genealogy and tracing the family tree, the question didn't seem at all odd to me. My mother replied, "Yes."

"She came back to life today."

Even though I was accustomed to hearing my grandmother speak of soap characters as if they were real people, to the point of developing strong love for the heroes and hatred for the villains, this came out of nowhere and nearly floored me until I realized she was speaking of a TV show.

Really?? I have to look those up! We weren't allowed to watch daytime tv when I was a child, so we had to sneak across the street to a friend's house to watch it!
