Agreed. I have not tried Sencha Yamato, I drink TG's Organic Japan Snecha and really enjoy it. I know that Sencha is the base of the Genmicha that I drink. I think that the Gyokuro Imperial I drink is a Sencha but that has been harder to find out.

Shel, about that shelf space problem... This is what kitchen remodeling is all about. Nothing to do with new fridge or oven. It's about making a dedicated 50% of your space just for good tea. (Coffee if you must. ) Often it's necessary to remove a spouse or child in order to make enough room. They will understand eventually and forgive you.

Not for me. I tried Darjeeling from about 5 different estates and only found one that was even passable to my taste. Then the next season, that estate's tea had a very different flavor! May have been something with air pollution affecting the rain or some such, I guess. Darjeeling just doesn't do it for me. Perhaps it's too high quality for my lowbrow taste. I have the same problem with caviar; can't eat the $50 good stuff but enjoy the $3 cheap type.

Try adding a spoonful of Nesquick to a cup of strong tea. (Don't use weak tea or the flavor won't come through.) ((Psssst... this is how we snare the newbies... ))
