How do I know if I got the 3G
Does it say 3g or wireless on here somewhere? How do I know I got the right one?

From the Home screen, press the Menu button and then select "Settings." At the bottom of the first screen there, you will see "Device Info," where it will say "Network Capability: Wi-Fi and 3G" if you have 3G.

You're welcome. I just thought I'd mention that I didn't get a very strong (or reliable) 3G signal at first, despite being well within the coverage area on the maps. If you have a similar problem, be sure to call Amazon. Their technicians checked out the problem, did some magic from their end, and my 3G signal has been excellent ever since!

I had the same reaction when I opened my box, and I almost called Amazon about that! You'll see that the USB cord and AC adapter are connected to each other when shipped. Just separate them.

Yeah, I discovered that by accident.

OP, just grab the plug at the end of the AC cable, and pull out the cord.

Yes, they are the same cord. There is an AC power adapter attached at the end. Just hold on to the end that plugs into the wall and pull it off ... then it's a USB plug.

Which also means you can plug that USB cord into a computer and charge it from there as well.
Luckily I have 2 USB hubs, one with 8 USB ports, and another with 4 for all my USB stuff... and still short one port without having to bend down behind the PC to plug it in.

It's not a "power cord". It's a USB charger with a USB cable plugged into it. Just pull the cable out of the charger.
