Zounds! The Kindle version costs more than a new hardcover edition!
But it looks as if it may be worth it. I just downloaded a sample. |

I got "Christianity" as an audiobook, but almost 2/3 of the way through it got very bogged down in philosophy; the history went into hiding. So ... I switched to the library Overdrive ebook instead.

It's about 1/3 audiobooks (italicization that didn't carry through). I'm a bit ADD'ish in that I juggle several books at once, and I read relatively fast.

I admire anyone who can do that. I've never been able to read more than one book at a time. My brain doesn't like to switch gears after only small amounts of something. I can't even read short serial-type releases unless I save up a few at a time to read together before reading something unrelated. I can do it with regular book-length series, but not the shorter ones.

At this moment I have one audiobook going, one print book I've been reading mostly at lunch and such over the past week or so and one I just started today, and on my e-reader I have one current nonfiction book, one essay collection, one that I started a while ago to see if I could get into it (yes, but I decided to read the rest of it later), and one huge book of movie reviews that I read a couple of every so often; I don't count the last two as "currently reading".
One book at a time is absolutely inconceivable to me! |

A summary listed by author in alpha order:
Jane Austen: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility Sydney Bauer: Gospel Edgar Rice Burroughs: Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar Kylie Chan: Dark Heavens series David Eddings: Belgariad, Mallorean, Elenium, Belgarath, Polgara Raymond E. Feist, Janny Wurts: Riftware, Empire Neil Gaiman: Smoke and Mirrors, Odd and the Frost Gians, Coraline Tom Holt: his first 7 comic fantasy novels John Irving: A Prayer for Owen Meany, Setting free the Bears Stephen King: a few from the early 90s Lois Lowry: The Giver Herman Melville: Moby Dick Stephenie Meyer: Twilight series, The Host Richard North Patterson: his 11 most recent Terry Pratchett: Tiffany Aching series Louis Sachar: Holes Alice Sebold: The Lovely Bones Shaun Tan: Tales from Outer Suburbia H.G. Wells: The War of the Worlds A lot of (ie. mostly) re-reads in there, I've been doing that a lot in the last few years. Saves money and is very convenient when you have lots of other stuff going on. Also quite a few kids books, or at least for "younger readers", which is also convenient when time is tight and some of them are very very good. |

Instead of posting the list here again. rather see it on my blog. I just need to add the 12 other titles I finished after reaching the 100 book mark.

But I added a new column to my Calibre database, so I can keep track in what year I have finished books... The ones I had already tagged as "Read" are now all put in 2010 though ![]() |
