Nice!

Come back to this thread when it applies, then.

I read a lot of Stephen King as a teen. I'm not really interested in trying to re-read his stuff now.
There are quite a few childhood favorites that I can see myself reading, however - "The Little House on the Prairie", for one. That was my very first series, and I would love to have it in e-book form, now.

Off to go see if I can find it!
I am happy to have them in e-book format, now!

I can read Narnia a million times, I think I last read it about 4 years ago. I can re-read almost anything Mercedes Lackey (except the Gryphon & Owl series), Andre Norton (of course), Tolkien, David Eddings' Belgariad, and Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's series.

Oh, and The Scarlet Pimpernel for some odd reason (though I really abhorred Wuthering Heights).

Man, there seem to be a lot of fantasy / sci-fi readers in this thread

I liked Lackey's Gryphon series (I think because I like Urtho and the Gryphons). Not a fan of Owl (I may re-read soon since I just read from Gryphon to Mage Winds).

I found I have trouble with the Andre Norton I've attempted - not as good as I remember.

I just managed to slog through the first Xanth book. It was readable, but it felt a little painful. I'm reading the second for kicks; it's worse. I seem to remember last time I tried this several years ago, I gave it up after the first two and Crewel Lye).

I really felt like I was reading fluff, though. Ick. But the budget is tight, so I'm trying to re-read a lot of my existing old books.

I have to admit that I have stuck to Andre Norton's Witch World series as an adult (I decided to collect the entire series, short stories included), so I'm not sure about others like The Zero Stone.

I've also heard a lot of people can't get back into Piers Anthony...I own the Incarnations of Immortality series in hb, but I've only tried read On a Pale Horse as an adult. Someone on another thread mentioned that Anthony has a panty fetish...didn't notice it as a kid thinking back now, I can see that

I'm 54 and I still reread Burnett's "A Little Princess" and "The Secret Garden" from time to time.

I can re-read a book I enjoyed 20 years ago a lot easier than I can re-read one I enjoyed two years ago. (There is, however, one I read in October--Rick Yancey's "Curse of the Wendigo"--that I'm (really) eager to read again. I'm making myself wait till September, so that I'll hopefully be reading it not too long before the sequel, "Isle of Blood," comes out. Fingers crossed that I won't read three chapters and lose interest....) Generally I need at least a decade between readings--I need time to forget much, if not all, of the story.
