patomonk: I got that part figured out. I found that the max number of pics is 99. The only problem I am dealing with now is that the reader keeps picking the same 4 pics over and over. I have to find out what makes them special.

Can I get it to start playing the next song automatically so that I don't have to stop reading every 3 minutes?
For MP3 songs, I manually copied over the MP3 tracks I want into a separate folder on my PC. Then I used a free MP3 tag program (I think it's called MP3Tag), which allows batch tagging. Then I selected all the songs in that folder in the MP3Tag program and changed the album to the same name, say "PRS-950." That way it lists all the songs in one "album" and then it will play each song in order or in shuffle mode, whichever you want. This was the quickest way for me. I'm pretty Type-A when it comes to file management so my music library is self-organized by file name ("Artist - Track# Song Name"). I never allow iTunes or WMP to organize my music for me. I do it all manually.

erasure25: Great idea with using a mass tag editor program. I am the same way with organizing my my music.

ThR: I deserve that for my question number 4. I kind of edited it in at the last second.

I just transferred the bulk of my books over to the reader using calibre. It seems to correctly created a collection for each author. My only issue now is that it named the collections with the author's first name first instead of last name, first name. I was a librarian so not organizing my books by the author's last name bugs me a little bit.
Thanks for all the help!

Groggy:

I've seen a fix for that around at the Calibre forum, so I'm sure those folks will know how to help. In the meanwhile, you can go into each collection on the device and rename them by surname individually, rather than transferring them again.

I didn't know there was a dedicated Calibre forum! I am new but I should have paid more attention to the list of forum sections...
I'll probably just re-transfer them again as there are less than 40 collections and I'm using this time to play with everything and learn rather than permanently set things up.
Thanks for the heads up!

If you're using collection by author name then you should probably try author_sort rather than author for selection... see calibre forum or website for more detail...
