I'm already 10 hours into 2011. Last night we had a thunderstorm coming in so I had to turn off the PC before the appropriate time.

We went to bed without seeing the New Year in. We watched Shutter Island which was quite good and called it a night. So I've been catching up with phone calls and texts this morning.

I saw a newly released film on DVD based on the book: Pillars of the earth. It spans over 4 DVDs. It's always hard to see a movie when you've read the book, but I think the director did a good job, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a marathon session in front of the TV.

You should get your dog one of these:

I remember my Grandmothers dog who'd go totally ballistic when she heard fireworks and firecrackers.
