I started the first Harry Dresden novel "Storm Front" this morning, but won't finish it until well into the new year.

I do like the In Death books so far.

I agree a ticker would make it easy to keep track of your book count.

Not really a schedule, more like "no new books till you read at least some of the 400 you've already amassed in the last few weeks". I went a little nuts when I got my Kindle.

My goal this year will be 150, which won't be a problem. I read 227 this year and 212 last year. But I have other things I want to work on this year so I'll be chilling out on the reading. 150 will get me past 1,000 books read on Goodreads (I've read more, but didn't add childrens books I read when I was a wee one).

I've been debating whether or not to join since I'm already doing a 100 book challenge on another forum, but I'm horrible at remembering to get books posted and already have 2 places that I want to keep track. So I've decided that I'm going to steal lene1949's idea and just use a ticker, but not list my books. That way I MIGHT actually keep up with it!

While I'm not aiming for a set number of books this year I'm going to keep track of the number of books I finish. I might make it to 100 in my quest to read 50,000 pages so I'll see how it goes.

I'm excited to start but I haven't decided yet what book I'm starting with. It has to be a free Kindle book though; as I read more than 150 books in the past 6 months (since getting my Kindle), my personal challenge is to 100 of the 300+ free Kindle books I've accumulated in that same period.

I'm still a little confused about how this is going to work in terms of listing the books we've read. Is each person supposed to create a separate thread for the challenge, and then update or will there be a thread where everyone just posts their books as they've read it? The former seems more logical but I have no idea how it's been done before.

Loosheesh, Terminator will start a thread on the Community Board (see the button on the blue bar above), in the Read 100 Books group. Each of us will post once to reserve a space. From then on we will edit our space by adding each book read.
