I have to ask questions to understand where everyone is coming from.

I just tried...within a book I used SoftKeys (circle with the downward arrow) to bring up the menu (Change Font, Table of Contents, etc).

People have SoftKeys configured differently. How is yours configured to work. Meaning, do you use the "n" button or something else?
Based on the other posts here I uninstalled Softkeys and installed Button Savior. It works great. I can get to the Google Books menu now.

Can you use Astro to copy items into your /System/Apps folder? That's what you need to do to get Live Wallpaper working, right?

No, you cannot. You need root priviliges to copy a file into /system and Astro doesn't request root. The only file manager I'm aware of that does is Root Explorer.

To uninstall Softkeys - I can't find the softkeys app to uninstall. I've been looking in all over Astro and even searched, but can't find it. Where are you finding it to uninstall?

Softkeys should appear in your app drawer, along with your other installed programs. I'm not sure what launcher you are running, or if you have rooted recently and have an app in the drawer called "NookColor Tools," but here are a couple methods.

If you use ADW.Launcher:
- goto app drawer
- tap and hold target app, and drop shortcut on home screen
- tap and hold shortcut on home screen and then tap uninstall

If you have Nook Color Tools in app drawer:
- open app drawer -> Nook color tools -> All settings -> Manage applications -> Softkeys -> uninstall

Thank you - finally found it and uninstalled. Was looking for it on Astro and couldn't find it. Even looked in Nook color tools, but now that far down.

This NC is a bigger learning process than I expected, but it's such a great feeling to finally get it working like it should.

I'll have to give that a try. If I can get the Live Wallpaper file into that folder should it work correctly?

Yeah, Android is new to me, too. The one thing I really like about it, is that there are really only (2) main screens, your homescreen(s), and the app drawer.

Android isn't that new to me since I started playing around and rooting my Evo, but this is an animal of a totally different color. I've never been this lost on the Evo. But it sure beats Windows mobile.

No idea. I don't mess with live wallpaper because of the additional battery drain.

Yeah, me too. My NC feels so different than my smart phone. It sometimes feels like a whole new platform!

To answer my own question:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5#post10165555

This link shows how to add the stock android live wallpapers like "water" (for some reason I really like that one). I can confirm that it works great and didn't mess up any of the Live Wallpapers I already have installed.
