Javascript in mobi ebooks?
The Mobipocket Developer website states that the Mobipocket format supports limited Javascript:

Does anyone know if the Kindle's reader includes Javascript support? I've tried a simple example from the above link, which doesn't seem to work, but I just wondered if I'd done something wrong, or missed something.

Nope, sorry.

Javascript support was dropped when the Java based Mobipocket Reader was developed. The Kindle uses a lot of that code, which is why the Kindle can't do it either.

I agree that it would have been a lot of fun if it had this support.

I got into this myself some time back. You could do a surprising amount of stuff with Javascript in Mobipocket. To this day, the old Mobipocket format still has the best support for interactivity. It's a shame that they dropped it.
