The Six Biggest Tech Surprises of 2010 -- and Predictions for 2011
Android, iPad, eReaders and more:
I like this: Monochrome e-readers are cheaper ($139 for a Wi-Fi Kindle) and offer a better book reading experience than anything short of, well, a real book. Unlike LCD devices such as the iPad, you can read them in broad daylight. And for book lovers who want to focus on the story they're reading, there are fewer distractions like e-mail, Facebook posts, Tweets, or silly games. The continued success of e-ink e-readers proves two things: They just work, and no matter what Steve Jobs thinks, there are still people who want to read. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/...s-predictions/ Last edited by kennyc; 12-28-2010 at 01:34 PM. |

The Nook Color was a big surprise. It came out of nowhere.

Not really. B&N had several development projects (and rumors) in the works at the time the original nook came out...I think the others sort of slid under the radar once the eInk nook was available. Still it was a but unexpected I think.
Is your nook rooted? |
