eReader trauma brought me to this forum

I think I've made 5 posts already but that doesn't mean it's too late to introduce myself, does it? I initially came here because my e-reader went haywire and I was looking for answers. Now it's fixed and I may as well stick around.

I read obsessively, both fiction and nonfiction. I became interested in e-readers when I met a local writer whose publisher is electronic. His books are also available in paper form, but at a higher price. If I got a reader, I'd be able to buy and read his books for less. Now I have one, and I still haven't gotten around to buying one of his books. The irony. But there's so much to read out there.

So I had to decide what brand. I rejected Kindle right off because of the price (it's come down massively since then). For quite a while I wanted to get a Sony. I tried out both models in the store. I'm not crazy about the touch screen, which just gets all smeared, plus you pay a lot more for it. But the other option had such a teeny screen. So for a while, I was interested in getting a Sony PRS-505, which is discontinued. There were plenty available used, but everyone wanted more than I thought I should have to pay for a used e-reader.

Then one fateful day, I went to chapters.indigo.ca and there was a big ad for the new Kobo e-reader, due out on May 1. It was exactly what I wanted--basic and inexpensive. I bought one the day it came out, the only time in my life I've been an early adopter. I'm generally very happy with it. In fact, I was miserable when it went on the blink--made me realize how attached I've gotten. Very unBuddhist of me.

Try the Libra Pro, its a lot more basic and costs less then the Kobo. That said you get more from the Kobo then the Libra Pro, so its sort of you pay your dollars take your poison.
