I'm one of the first ones to play down the effects of some of the violence and other activities on kids, but only to a certain degree. For instance I have no problem letting my son (8 years) play halo, it is not based in reality and he knows the bad guys are aliens, there is very minor swearing (nothing more than he'd hear on the playground). Let's not get into that debate here, but my rant is why do other parents think it is ok to get their kids the games rated mature for blood and gore or sex and then look at you funny when you say you kid is not allowed to play it?

Of course I shouldn't be too surprised since I'm pretty sure the babysitter for the kid in question is named X-BOX.

Stupid Wacom/Amazon. I just got my Bamboo tablet and all the included software has to be downloaded. The problem is that Wacom works together with Amazon on this and at the moment Amazon's servers are superslow. Photoshop Elements 8 is 1.1gb and estimated time for downloading is 15 hours! And after 8 hours the download connection is broken.

Now I'm downloading the other programs, hopefully Amazon's servers will return to normal speed soon!

Oh No! Sorry to hear that.

Must be that storm on the East Coast.

Too bad they do it that way, many of those "included programs" are available for download anyway. Also if you are interested you can download a TRIAL version of Painter 11 - the "Real Media" brushes are my favorites at the moment.
