I haven't owned a television in over 15 years and consider television a pestilence.

I voted What are they? just to be perverse... Actually, like most I prefer the book. Books exercise your mind, allowing you to build the scene with your imagination. Imagination will always triumph over visual media, technology just does not come close (at least yet!) I do go to movies but I do not expect them to be able to immerse me into the action like a good book will. Give me a good Robert E. Howard Conan novel or a good H. P. Lovecraft story and I'm good! |

clearly a case of sampling bias! how about this question: what do you like better A bad movie? or A bad book? |

My ideal is to have a book read to me. I can still draw images in my head without the effort of reading. I've only sampled one audiobook, and fell asleep! But this is a silly question to ask on a forum of readers. |

Same here. I love audiobooks. I can kick back and totally relax while someone else does the work; though I do fall asleep every now and then.

Books (my DT Library has near 1000, all read except below) There has been only 1 book (series) ever, where I thought the Movie was better. I just could not wade through the Writing "style". Movies may have "Warp 9". Books can be read at "Warp 90+" |

That said, I do have a lot of commute time, and I tend to listen to some audio books then.

I enjoy a good book more than a good movie. Maybe that's because there are so few really good movies in the genres that I enjoy but tons of great books.

I prefer movies with subtitles. Then I feel I have watched a movie AND read a book.
