We're expecting 4-8" today with additional accumulation tonight. I thing we already have at least 4". Doesn't look good for the drive in to work at 6 tonight. The drive home this morning was no picnic.

My wife said she heard we'd be getting 10-15" before it's over. The way things are looking now, I wouldn't be surprised. When I came in, she asked me if the paper was outside. I replied, "I don't know. Grab a shovel and go see." She says I'm a smart alec.

In fact, we just came in from the storm. It must be about a foot high by now. Norton couldn't run, so he was jumping from spot to spot like a rabbit, sinking in up to his neck with each landing. He was more than ready to come back in. Wind speeds are suppose to get up to 30 mph. It looks like a blizzard out there now.

A few minutes ago I called the guys on day shift and reminded them not to forget to check the equipment on the piers. After the laughter died down, they picked themselves off the floor and told me they couldn't even see the work truck under all the snow.

I hope they get home alright. That's assuming, of course, that I get in tonight alright to relieve them. I don't expect to see my workmate. He has an hour's drive on a good day, so I'll probably be holding the fort down alone.

I've only seen snow twice in my life. It's a 4-5 hour drive and only skiable a couple of months of the year.

Going into the teens tonight - tomorrow morning should be black ice heaven! Will be getting into work late tomorrow [I wait for daylight, and to allow the idiots to drive off into ditches before I start out]

We ended up getting 6" total snowfall - a lot of which froze onto tree branches - I was out whacking bent over pine trees with a broom today to knock off their snow so they could straighten up. This is heavy wet snow - I actually used a broom to clear the driveway - no shoveling needed.

Snowed in here too, like most of the east coast. It started around 12, and even though it's really coming down, it only looks like we've got a couple of inches.

It's supposed to stay this way until noon tomorrow, which is going to suck. Hopefully the roads won't be too bad in the morning.
